EASH TAKES CAREER FIRST LM
WIN AT DOG HOLLOW For immediate release
STRONGSTOWN, PA – Billy Eash of
Repeat winners included Dan Angelicchio of The late model feature started out with a six car crash in turn one that sent three drivers to the pits for the night. On the complete restart Ben Statterlee and Bernie Whiteford led the first to the start and Satterlee took the lead only to break a right rear wheel in turn four the nearly sent the #97 flipping. Once again the race saw a complete restart with Rick Strong taking the lead. As he was setting the pace the battle for second was heating up between for second between Billy Eash and at first Luke Hoffner then Derek Byler. On lap seven Strong’s number S1 didn’t go when the green waved after a caution and he was out for the night. This made the battle for second between Eash and Byler the battle for the lead, with Eash getting the top spot on the restart and holding off Byler and Terry Rayko for his first career feature win ever. Byler, Rayko, Bob Sheesley and Shawn McGarvey completed the top five. Heat wins went to Ben Satterlee and Shawn McGarvey. In the Fastrak late models, a number of the regulars were off at a special so the count was limited to only eight cars making the show. Roger Laughlin beat Gary Stahl into the first turn and was setting the pace with eight place starter Daniel Angelicchio slowly biding his time and working his way through the field. By the 8th lap he was able to reel in Laughlin and the duo ran side-by-side several times with Angelicchio taking the lead for good on lap 16 and took his second straight win. Laughlin was second with Stahl, Drew Koteles and John Eckenrod completing the top five. Dan Angelicchio won the heat. Jim Boyer and Tyler Hite led the street stock feature to the start with Boyer taking the lead and never looking back. He led the event with little or no stiff competition but the battle for second was anyone’s race, as Hite, Mike Laughard, Kyle McFarland and Denny Keener were all in a position to be the second place finisher, but that belonged to Hite at the end of the race. Keener, Laughard and McFarland completed the top five. Heat wins went to Denny Keener and Jim Boyer. Jeremy Shaffer and John Mazey led the pure stock feature to the start with Mazey taking the lead and Shaffer falling to second, but Rich Powell came from fourth and took the second spot from Shaffer who battled back before Tim Laughard got into the mix as Matt Summers and Marshall Detwiler jockeyed for fifth and sixth. A mid race caution regrouped the field and put Powell on Mazeys rear bumper for the restart with Laughard and Shaffer still fighting for third, but some close racing caused Powell to lose some ground, giving Shaffer an opening to move into second and challenge Mazey, but like a shot out of a cannon Powell came off the second turn as the field worked the final lap on the outside, passing Shaffer and Laughard and pulling along side of Mazey. Mazey tried to protect his line as the pair entered the third turn, neither driver lifted or gave an inch, they tangled and slid off the fourth turn, making the third place battle between Shaffer and Laughard a tussle for the win, Shaffer was on the inside and Laughard on the outside, they were door-to-door off the fourth turn and crossed the line in a near dead heat, but Laughard had just inches more than Shaffer and picked up the win. Summers, Detwiler and Tony Daughenbaugh completed the top five. Heat wins went to Tim Laughard and Rich Powell. The four cylinder feature wasn’t nearly as exciting as five cautions slowed the race in the first seven laps. Jason Bialowas moved from third to take the lead from at the start from front row starters Ryan Claycomb and Scott Shirk. He only led the first lap before Adam Pletcher took the lead and led for four laps. He lost the lead on lap six to Ray Hickok Jr. who went on hold off Pletcher who batteld back, but could not get past Hickok. The top five at the finish were Hickok, Pletcher, Bialowas, Jesse Laughard and Matt Weakland. Jason Bialowas, Ray Hickok Jr. and Chris Hickok won the heats.
